An analysis of student performance in the area of flat figures in SisPAE

Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study conducted by the Pará Educational Assessment System (SisPAE) between 2022 and 2024, since external assessments are used to plan public education policies. The research seeks to answer the question: what is the level of performance/learning demonstrated by students in basic education in Pará in the mathematics component of the curriculum, specifically in the mathematical subject area of plane figures, and has there been progress in the last three assessments? The objective is to analyze the level of performance/learning of these students in the area of plane figures and whether there has been progress. To achieve the objective of the research, a bibliographic research methodology was adopted in books, magazines, and websites. A qualitative and quantitative analysis was performed on the data to obtain the results. The results of the research are presented in tabular form, followed by a written analysis, drawing attention to the performance/learning pattern demonstrated by students in the evaluated period. In the final considerations, the research question is answered, and further studies on SisPAE data are recommended to analyze the quality of education in Pará.
