Práticas Institucionalizadas e processos de socialização de crianças na cidade

Resumo

Este artigo discute a relação entre práticas institucionalizadas de crianças e a dimensão espacial de seus processos de socialização. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória realizada com seis crianças de escolas da rede municipal de educação de Curitiba, moradoras de regiões centrais, periferias e favelas. Foram realizadas entrevistas com os pais, conversas longas com as crianças, observações e fotografias dos locais de moradia das famílias. Os dados foram analisados a partir de referenciais da sociologia urbana e da socialização. As práticas institucionalizadas da maioria das crianças após o horário escolar são relativamente variadas, mas, no bairro ou nas proximidades, com destaque para práticas relacionadas à igreja católica e à guarda municipal. Cada instituição desenvolve estéticas, linguagens e performances próprias e tanto o convívio com a diversidade de instituições do bairro quanto as possíveis contradições existentes entre elas, já nas primeiras socializações das crianças, trazem indícios sobre a formação de um homem plural (Lahire)."

Practices of children in the institutions of the city and their socialization processes

This study presents the relationship of children’s practices in the institutions of the city and the spatial dimension of their socialization processes. It is an exploratory research that was made with six children enrolled in public schools in Curitiba, who live in central, suburbs and slum suburbs locations. Parents were interviewed, children were submitted to long talks and observations and photographs of the places their families live were taken. The collected data were analyzed on the perspectives of urban sociology and socialization. Most children’s practices in the institutions of the city after school time are varied, however, practices concerning Catholic Church and the city security guard are given greater prominence in the neighborhood or around it. Each institution develops esthetic notions, languages and its own performances and living with the diversity of neighborhood institutions as well as the possible contradictions between them bring clues about the development of a plural human being (Lahire).
