O Discóbolo de Míron e a Educação Física brasileira: O que está por trás da aparência?

Abstract

Este contributo tem o objetivo de discutir a representação da escultura Discóbolo de Míron no campo da Educação Física, obra que inspirou, em particular, o corpo, o movimento e algumas práticas e discursos dos cursos de formação de professor à disciplina escolar. Assim, apoiou-se nos estudos de Nielsen (2014a, 2014b), Papakonstantinou (2009, 2012a, 2012b, 2018), entre outros. A tese é que a imagem repercute nos discursos/práticas excludentes da disciplina escolar Educação Física, representando a tensão entre os significados provenientes da classe aristocrática da Grécia Antiga, em que corpo, esporte e atleta-ganhador exaltam a beleza, o que paradoxalmente também revela a exclusão de corpos “desproporcionados” e “inábeis”, gerando dificuldade ao professor, em geral, para superar a ideologia nacionalista, de status, de superioridade e de perfeição embutida na mensagem do Discóbolo de Míron.

Abstract

This contribution aims to discuss the representation of the sculpture Myron´s Discobolous by the field of Physical Education, work that inspired, in particular, the body, movement and some practices and speeches of the formation of teacher courses to the school discipline. The bibliographic research was carried out based on the studies of Nielsen (2014a, 2014b), Papakonstantinou (2009, 2012a, 2012b, 2018), among others. As a conclusion, what is behind the appearance of that sculture in the discourses and practices that are exclude in the Brazilian Physical Education from the tension between the senses coming the aristocratic class of Ancient Greece about the body, sport and athlete-winner that them exalt the beauty, paradoxically, also reveal the exclusion of bodies “disproportionate” and “awkward” in which teacher have difficult to overcome such in speeches and nationalistic practices, superiority and status from the message of the Myron´s Discobolous.
