Resumo

O trabalho é resultado de estudo derivado"de projeto de pesquisa cujo tema é "Retratos"da criança e da infância no município de Parintins"."O objetivo foi evidenciar os usos e"apropriações de espaços públicos destinados"à criança e à infância em três bairros da periferia"do município de Parintins, município"de Manaus/AM, e em uma comunidade suburbana,"considerando a relação criança-sociedade-cultura, focalizando-se geralmente a"criança apenas como "aluno", ou seja, como""objeto" do contexto escolar. O estudo almeja"dar visibilidade às crianças na atividade"do brincar, tomando espaços não institucionais"como referência para discutir seu papel"enquanto sujeito social, agente transformador"da própria cultura.

The place of child and childhood in the municipality of Parintins, Amazonas state, Amazon

This work is the result of a study derived from the research project whose theme is "Portraits of children and childhood in the city of Parintins". The aim of the study was to demonstrate the uses and appropriations of public spaces for the child and childhood in three neighborhoods in the outskirts of the city of Parintins and in a suburban community, whereas little is said about the child-society relationship-culture, focusing usually the child only as "student", i.e. as "object" of the school context. This study seeks to give visibility to children at their most expressive activity, playing, taking the non-institutional spaces as a reference to discuss their role as a social subject, transforming agent of their own culture.
