Paulo Freire's childhood: thinking contributions to early childhood education

Resumo

A infância de Paulo Freire é um tema que aparece em muitos de seus escritos. Vários autores entendem que embora a infância não tenha sido o foco dos seus trabalhos, mas sim a educação de jovens e adultos, em suas obras é possível observar as contribuições para a educação das crianças, principalmente na modalidade da educação infantil, tanto em espaços formais como informais de educação. Com base na leitura de obras de Paulo Freire, analisam-se alguns trechos sobre a infância do educador pernambucano, bem como serão realizadas reflexões sobre possíveis contribuições de Freire para pensar a educação infantil.

Abstract:

Paulo Freire's childhood is a theme that appears in many of his writings. Several authors understand that although childhood was not the focus of their work, but the education of young people and adults, in their works it is possible to observe the contributions to the education of children, especially in the modality of early childhood education, both in formal spaces as informal education. Based on the reading of Paulo Freire's works, some excerpts about the childhood of the Pernambuco educator are analyzed, as well as reflections on possible contributions by Freire to think about early childhood education will be carried out.
